Welcome to the HPS South Pennine Group's Website

Based in Sheffield and North Derbyshire, we are one of over 40 local groups of Hardy Plant Society members.

The Hardy Plant Society is a charity formed in 1957. Its aims are to advance the culture, study and improvement of hardy herbaceous plants and to conserve older, rarer and less well-known varieties to prevent their loss. It is an international society and in the UK there are members' groups in many areas.

Our spring plant sale is on Saturday May 19th 2012 12.30-3.30pm and Sunday May 20th 10.30-1.30pm. All plants are grown by group members and have proved hardy in Sheffield. As well as hardy perennials we also sell surplus vegetable plants so come along to see what bargains you can find amongst our 2000+ plants on sale.
